What it is
Replacing a worn-out tub with a new one. Acrylic, solid surface, or soaking tub. Including all surround and plumbing work.

When you need it
When the existing tub is cracked, chipped past refinishing, leaking at the drain or overflow, refinished and now peeling, or just ugly and dated. Also when you want to upgrade to a deeper soaking tub.
What's required
Access to remove the old tub (cast iron tubs sometimes need to be cut out), a clear path through the house for the new tub, plumbing in good shape or replaced as part of the job, a 50% deposit on any special-order tub, and possibly minor framing work for non-standard tub sizes.
